Kayak for the Warriors events are all fund raisers for Hope For The Warriors®
SATURDAY, MAY 28
Keeping with the traditions of the past 8 years, the course will run through the sand and across the knolls of the beautiful Beacon’s Reach area of Pine Knoll Shores.
All are welcome to participate: walk, jog, run, or run hard, it’s entirely your choice; just come and participate and support our combat wounded. There will be separate divisions with separate times kept, it all depends on what you can and want to do. Registration will start at 8:00 AM and all runners will line up with the elite runners in front, casual runners next, and walkers following. All runners will start at 9:10 AM. Runners must cross the finish line by 11:00 AM to receive a recorded time.
This run will be electronically timed by Run the East, a professional race timing service of North Carolina. For more race timing info please see www.runtheeast.com. Entry fee is $25 for the first family member and $15 for each additional family member residing under the same roof. The Fun Run/Walk fee is $15. T-shirts for fun walkers/runners will be available for purchase for an additional $10.

Warriors Reception and Auctions
Again this year, the beautiful Pine Knoll Shores Aquarium will be the venue for the warrior reception and silent and live auctions which includes works of local artists and goods and services from local businesses. Stroll through the aquarium in climate controlled comfort to view the exhibits while sampling a variety of wines and beer and heavy hors d’ oeuvres and bid on silent auction items. The doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the live auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. Entry fee of $10 includes 2 beverages and food from our local restaurant sponsors. BIKE RIDES @ MCNEILL PARK
The Fun 5K and 10K bike rides through Pine Knoll Shores both start and end at McNeill Park and begin at 8:30 a.m. Please arrive by 8 a.m. in order to register. The $15 registration fee includes lunch at Garner Park. Participants are encouraged to decorate their bikes in support of the Warriors. Any fun bike riders may purchase T-shirts at the special price of $15. Fun riders who raise $50 or more in sponsors will be given a free T-shirt. Residents are encouraged to display the American flag.
Although most of the action takes place at Garner Park, there are many great viewing areas along the route including McNeill Park, Brock Basin and Ramsey Park.

WATER ACTIVITIES @ GARNER PARK
A 3.2-mile kayak and paddle board race through the Pine Knoll Shores canals and Bogue Sound begins Saturday, June 4, 2016, at 10 a.m. A $50 registration fee includes a Warrior T-shirt and lunch. We will again have the WARRIORS RACE, a “race within a race.” There will be raw time winners in the “standard” race. We are asking each participant to create their own team of sponsors. Each racer is encouraged to raise at least $100 in additional donations from their sponsors.
FOR EVERY DOLLAR RAISED BY EACH RACER, 1 SECOND WILL BE DEDUCTED FROM THEIR RAW RACE TIME. There is NO limit to the number of seconds that can be deducted. The WARRIOR winner will be the racer with the fastest WARRIOR time by calculating their (raw time) – (dollars raised/seconds) = WARRIOR time. A Family Fun Race starts at 10:30 a.m. A $15 registration fee also includes lunch. Participants can use any paddle-worthy vessel in order to compete in the race. Children 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Any fun race participant may purchase T-shirts at the special price of $15. SATURDAY, JUNE 4 ON SHORE @ GARNER PARK
After all bikers and kayak racers return to shore, an awards ceremony and Hot Dog Feast will begin at 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Garner Park. For those not racing in any other events, the cost to participate in the lunch is $10 per person with a max of $20 per family, and DOES include Linda’s “special Coney Sauce.”
